Man catfishing in Missouri snags 4-foot prehistoric fish as a substitute

A person catfishing alongside a Missouri river was stunned when he reeled in an surprising prehistoric fish.

The Missouri Division of Conservation mentioned Chandler Lee Tudor hooked and landed a 4-foot lake sturgeon out of the Gasconade River in Pulaski County earlier this week. 

Tudor was utilizing worms as bait making an attempt to catch a catfish as he was fishing on the Riddle Bridge Entry.

Wildlife officers say lake sturgeon are massive and prehistoric fish that reside within the Missouri and Mississippi river programs.

They will develop to lengths of 8 toes and weigh as much as 300 kilos.

“Lake sturgeon are protected as an endangered species in Missouri and have to be returned to the water if captured,” the MDC mentioned.

After a fast image to doc the catch, the MDC mentioned the fish was instantly launched again into the Gasconade River.
